Last Day at my Work

Well this day has come when I moved away from current job and did not have to think about joining other, a mini retirement, as you can say. That day was last Friday, and it was over. Though whatever I would have started saying that there would be no emotional speed breaker. Or it would be a smooth transition from work life to absolute nothing did not hold true. Life seemed to have been addicted to sitting before office desktop, unlimited net, pantry for juice and tea, gossips, chats, get-together at pizza hut for lunch, free treat for no visa, passport, or simply someone leaving sub team for another and of course the little work I do. This type of work culture is very difficult to find at any other place. Where will one find the flexibility in the time of coming to office and leaving the office. There was a time when I sat in office for mere few hours. And there was a time when I came early morning and sat through late night to complete my work. And nobody except few objecting to this type of work style.

Spending nearly two and a half year in the same company and at the same desk is some feat, I proudly look at. Because in the current job dynamics where people are monkey jumping from one company to another, thinking about what you exactly want and then giving time to the company to prove itself worthy to you requires a lot of patience. Joining as the fourteenth senior in the development team and leaving as the fourth senior speaks volume of what I have tried to said above.

Last one month after I had put down my papers, were kind of honeymoon at my work. Though there was work going on but it was kind of relatively lesser work load as compared to earlier. And it seems that it was the time when I could devote more time to some members of the team which otherwise I did not consider in the past. I was able to explore other aspects of life. I had been contemplative about national issues. I think I have definitely grown wiser in the past few month.
